Louisville Zoo to host Wild Lights festival

After skipping 2025 the popular Wild Lights festival will once again be held at the Louisville Zoo in summer 2026.

The event takes place after the Zoo’s regular hours from May 15 – July 26 Thursdays through Sundays from 7 pm to 10 pm. The event takes visitors on a 1.4-mile walking path through the zoo along with 50 handcrafted lanterns illuminating the way through highlight themed areas that include Pre-Historic Animals, a Magical Ocean, Wonderous Asia and a Magical Forest.

Banner printing services can be used to help direct the public at large events.

Joining zoo officials as they announce the Wild Lights festival's return was Mayor Craig Greenberg who said:

"We’re excited to welcome Wild Lights back to the Louisville. This spectacular event has become a favorite for families and visitors, and it’s something people of all ages can enjoy together."

A gigantic chameleon will greet attendees at the Zoo’s entrance and other highlights will include a 15-foot unicorn, a 20-foot three-headed dragon, an underwater scene as well as a prehistoric one. Interactive lanterns are interspersed throughout the trail with step-activated pads that permit visitors to initiate movements.

The lanterns are crafted using centuries-old lantern-making techniques in Zigong, China. Attendees can watch artisans at work and purchase unique handcrafted goods as well as observe live cultural performances and enjoy themed snacks and cocktails from Zoo vendors.

Tickets are presently on sale for the event which will take place rain or shine.
