Time once again for Louisville to celebrate farming
Over the next few days, Louisville will be packed with hundreds of thousands of visitors filling hotels and patronizing restaurants and entertainment venues in between visits to the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center for the National Farm Machinery Show.
As the biggest indoor farm show in the U.S., visitors flock here from around the country to learn about cutting-edge equipment, products, and services in today’s farming industry.
Half of the fun for kids and young at heart is getting a close-up look at essentially every major line of equipment used on a farm under one roof. The other half is collecting the brochures and promotional pens, as well as other promotional products that are given away at these type of events.
Dustin Collins, a promising country music star and Kentucky native, will be at the Farm Machinery Show to meet fans and sign autographs. Collins, guesting Sunday morning on WAVE 3 News Weekend Sunrise, explained that the first show was in the 1960s and focused mostly on electricity. Over the half century since, it has evolved to showcase combines and a whole manner of other agricultural equipment.
The 2019 Farm Machinery show begins today, February 13, and continues through this Saturday, February 16. There is no cost to attend the show, but parking cost $10 per car.
