September date set for charitable walk
The 2014 Louisville Walk will take place this fall in the city of Louisville, as well as across nearly 100 communities nationwide. The event funds programs for educating and supporting patients, families, and friends about kidney disease and prevention.
The National Kidney Foundation reports that more than 80ยข on each dollar donated supports education, as well as advocating for patients inflicted with kidney disease.
Walk participants may follow the route individually or form a team. Volunteers are also need to serve on committees and assist with the activities involved in the big event.
The fundraising provides incentives and recognition for the hard work of participants. Those raising a minimum of $100 will receive a special Kidney Walk T-Shirt. An average of $200 is typically raised by the walkers, with many being honored as top fundraisers when reaching the $1,000 threshold. There are several fundraising rewards available.
Astellas Transplant is the national presenting sponsor this year. The national corporate partner is Questcor Pharmaceuticals. Other sponsorships are also still available.
Marathons and other outdoor events typically use banners for directing the participants and highlighting specific areas. Their design and production is often handled by qualified local print companies, which will make them strong and sturdy enough to withstand elements of weather conditions.
