Oh Gastronomy! in Kentucky!
From Friday, March 16th to April 1st, 2012 the play “Oh Gastronomy!” will be performed at the Actors Theatre of Louisville located at 316 W. Main Street in Louisville, Kentucky. Performances open at 11pm every night, except Sunday when the performance begins at 10pm. The press opening for this play is being Friday, March 16th. This play is part of the 36 Humana Festival of New American Plays.
This play “Oh Gastronomy!” by Tanya Saracho, Carson Kreitzer, Michael Golamco, Sarah Lunnie, and Matt Schatz is being presented by the 2011/2012 Acting Apprentice Company and is being directed by Amy Attaway. The focus of this event is food, which can act as the most human unifier, even though it is often a contradiction onto itself. Devoured by all it can act as a comfort or as a compulsion creating both deprivation and nourishment. The event studies how it can make the mouth water, or the stomach turn. Guests will discover how five playwrights and twenty-two starving acting apprentices combine to show the paradoxes and pleasures hidden in the meaning of food.
Print companies have no doubt already completed the poster printing, as tickets are now available for sale. Tickets to this play cost $25 per person. For additional information about this play, or to purchase tickets, please contact the Actors Theatre of Louisville at 502-584-1205 or purchase your tickets online through the theatre’s website. For people with accessibility issues, please call the box office so early seating arrangements can be made.
