New first for Louisville a food truck park
Culinary Row, a food truck park, is under development in the Louisville neighborhood of Merriwether.
While they have become a stable across the state, here in downtown Louisville, food trucks are generally standalone operations. However, that is set to change, as a dirt and gravel lot at Jubilee Field on East Burnett Avenue is slated to become a multi-food truck site.
Unlike some food truck locations, it will not be a hit-or-miss proposition for diners, as the trucks will not be rotating in and out. In addition to offering consistency for their customers, having a permanent location will benefit the food truck operators as well, as they will be able to offer delivery services much like a regular restaurant.
Print shops can supply restaurants with menus for inside dining, as well as for takeout.
Culinary Row owners Troy King and Selena Johnson will be renting out trailers. King explained to WDRB news:
"This is gonna give that individual who doesn't quite have enough money to open up their own food truck. We want to give people opportunities. And put that food out to the masses, and so this is gonna be the most economical way to do that."
According to King, generators will not be needed on site as electricity and water will be available to the trucks.
Culinary Row is anticipated to be operational by March 2024.
