New concept from Caf Lou Lou for Louisville
The space left open by Decca will soon have a new tenant – Lou Lou on Market, a new concept from Jared Fox Matthews, the owner of Café Lou Lou.
For years Lou Lou has performed well in Louisville, with New Orleans-style dishes such shrimp and grits, gumbo, shrimp etouffee, and low country boils.
According to a recent press release Lou Lou on Market will boast the same New Orleans vibe but will have a separate menu from the St. Matthews Lou Lou. The new location will actually be a two-for-one deal with The Stave, a basement bar.
Often, prior to the opening of a new establishment, a banner printing service will be employed to help in its promotion. The new establishment will feature live jazz music and New Orleans signature drinks with a unique Lou Lou twist. As Matthews explains:
In addition to The Stave, which will focus on a Kentucky staple, Boubon, Lou Lou on Market will also have the “Lagniappe Room” a private event space, as well as a patio on which to enjoy drinks and food.
Lou Lou on Market is expected to open mid-December or early January.

“I want to give Louisville the whole New Orleans experience while incorporating the unique flavor of Lou Lou, which combines Mediterranean and classic Cajun: Live music, creole flavors, classic New Orleans cocktails with a unique twist, hidden rooms, and an overall fun, but elevated dining experience.”
