In 2022, Cook Out posted a social media message request feedback on what market they should next expand into. Louisville came in second out of five possible cities.
Recent paperwork filed with Louisville Metro shows that the new project will be located at 2412 Preston Highway. The project will, per the Louisville Metro Business Portal:
"construct an eating establishment with drive-thru and associated utilities and parking."
Cook Out’s menu consists of North Carolina-style pork barbecue, burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers and chicken nuggets as well as 40 varieties of milkshakes.
Most of the restaurants feature two drive-thru lanes as well as a walk-up window, although some newer location includes indoor counter service and dining.
