Louisville keeps on giving over festive period
The city of Louisville will soon be host to two fundraising events that help the less fortunate.
The first event is the 5th annual Give-a-Jam to End Homelessness, which will take place this month. Proceeds from this event will go to support the Coalition for the Homeless which, in addition to helping others, helps find housing for homeless veterans. Guests will be able to purchase stew and soup prepared by some of the city's top chefs while they are entertained by ten local musical artists and bands. Among those performing at the benefit are Bonnie Prince Billy, Appalatin, John Gage, Small Time Napoleon, and Tyrone County.
The next event is Glitter and Glamour 2016, which is a fundraising benefit for The Center for Woman and Families. The Center helps abused women, men, and children and helps to provide temporary residence, among other programs. Guests of this event will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and wine. There will be a DJ, dancing, and a charity auction.
The organizers of charity events in Louisville often hire postcard printing firms to provide invitations.
Give-a-Jam to End Homelessness will be held at the Clifton Center on December 17. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Call 502-636-9550 to learn more.
Glitter and Glamour 2016 will take place at the Bluegrass Brewing Company Bourbon Barrel Loft on January 2 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Tickets are $37.92 each.
