Louisville in for a monstrous August
The Louisville Palace has scheduled some classic monster and horror movies for the month of August.
Beginning with the 1925 silent version of the Phantom of the Opera on August 1, the 1931 version of Dracula will be presented the following day, followed by Frankenstein on August 8 and 9.
Other classic movies scheduled included The Mummy, Chevelle, The Invisible Man, The Black Cat, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Raven, The Wolfman, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. The films are being shown in chronological order according to when they were recorded, hence the mid-1920s Phantom of the Opera kicking off the program, and Jack Arnold’s 1954 film Creature from the Black Lagoon concluding it.
The Louisville Palace has beverages available and these are allowed in the theatre, although snacks are not permitted. Tickets to the movies and other performances can be purchased online with a VIP ticket option also available.
Frequently, theaters order catalog printing services from a local printer to include the schedule of events and activities. The catalogs can also have advertisers and sponsors noted. They are typically distributed from various points throughout the region, as well as being available at the venue and making a souvenir for attendees.
The venue is located at 625 South Fourth Street. For more information, visit the organization’s website or call 1-800-745-3000.
