Louisville hosts confirms date for Celebrity Day

The Kentucky Derby Festival in the Louisville area hosts many celebrities each year at the Celebrity Day at the Downs event.

Kentuckiana Honda Dealers presents the star-studded event annually at Churchill Downs, where the legendary horserace takes place. Many stars participate in the Pegasus Parade and other festival activities, creating an exciting day of glamour at the races.

Started in 1981 as the ‘Thoroughbred Celebrity Luncheon’, Celebrity Day at the Downs was originally mean to thank the many volunteers who worked on the parade. The luncheon was designed to create an opportunity for everyone to meet and greet the grand marshal of the parade.

As word spread quickly about this high profile event, the luncheon became a sell-out each year. Over the decades, more celebrities were added to the parade and it now attracts many entertainers and Hollywood celebrities.

Parades often order banner printing from local Print companies. Banners are used throughout the parade on floats and as signage for the spectators.

Activities begin on April 30 at 11:30 am. The cost to attend the event is $99 for a single ticket, $892 for a preferred table, and $792 for a table of eight. If not purchasing a ticket, watching for celebrities in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade can take place on Broadway.
