The 12 attractions that make up the New Kentucky Garden Trail will include three in Jefferson County, all of which are located here in Louisville. The trail is made up of plant collections, monuments, and historic sites, and has a passport program that permits visitors to chronicle each landscape on the trail and earn rewards along the way.
In a news release, the Trail’s project lead and Oldham County Tourism’s executive director Kim Hydes offered Hatfield Media a “very special thank you” for helping to bring the project to fruition, saying:
"The trail is an exciting collaboration of nine tourism offices across the state who came together to showcase the fantastic gardens throughout the Bluegrass, including those recognized as some of the best in country."
Brochure printing services are frequently used by chambers of commerce to inform the public of local attractions.
Seven counties are home to one trail attraction each, while Jefferson County has three – Cave Hill Cemetery, Waterfront Botanical Gardens, and the University of Louisville Arboretum – and adjacent Oldham County has two – Yew Dell Botanical Gardens and the Creasy Mahan Nature Preserve.
The Yew Dell Botanical Gardens’ executive director Paul Cappiello praised the Kentucky Garden Trail in a news release, noting that it will be a tremendous resource for Kentucky visitors as well as the state’s residents.
