What's Happening in Louisville, KY…

Louisville gets a little bit brighter

Locals can head to Downtown Louisville to usher in the holiday season.

‘Light Up Louisville’ will kick off the area’s ‘Holiday in the City’, a series of events and happenings throughout the city during the holidays. A postcard printing service has probably been busy creating promotional cards to send to the community.

Attendees can enjoy ice skating in the Holiday Square or shopping at the World Market, where they can purchase handmade gifts, taste food, or sample drinks. Another highlight is Santa’s workshop, where guests can welcome and then take pictures with St. Nick at the Kentucky International Convention Center, located on 221 South 4th Street.

In the evening, the 'Lots of Lights Parade' will entertain the crowd. The parade features lights, music, cars, floats, and various organizations.

Active types can take part in the ‘Run, Run Rudolph 5K’. Before November 1, registration costs $25. After that, the price goes up to $35 or $40 on race day. There will also be two children’s fun runs that cost between $10 and $25. The 5K will begin on 4th and Main Street.

The event will begin at 11:00 am on November 27. The skating rink will be open from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm and from 9:00 pm until 11:00 pm. The 5K will begin at 4:00 pm followed by the Lots of Lights Parade at 6:30 pm. Finally, Santa will arrive at 8:00 pm.
