Louisville brewer to add 10-year-old straight rye whiskey
It has recently been announced that Michter, an American distillery here in Louisville, is adding a single-barrel Kentucky straight rye to its list of offerings.
The market for rye whiskey has seen a sharp uptick, but only a single bottling of this rye will be offered in 2021 due to the limit of the distillery’s supply.
Dan McKee, master distiller at Michter’s, described the soon to be released rye:
Michter’s, along with its popular rye whiskey, is also well known for its single-batch American whiskey, single-barrel bourbon and small-batch bourbon. Its main distillery is located in Louisville’s Shively district, and it has another in Louisville proper. This secondary distillery is located in the historic Fort Nelson Building, built in 1890, and offers tours and tastings sessions.
A well-thought out logo design can catch the eye of consumers and remind them of the company that produced their product.
At its Springfield Farm, the company has expanded the acreage for production of estate-grown grain from 145 to 205 acres to increase its distillation capacity. It is hoped that this will allow the company to increase its production of rye whiskey and making it easier to obtain both domestically and internationally.
The price quote for Michter’s 10-year rye is $170 per 750ml bottle.

"This 10 year Rye release is a multi-layered whiskey. It's bold, rich, and complex with a beautiful mouth-feel."
