Kentucky Shakespeare Festival announces 2022 line-up
The schedule has been released for the 62nd annual Kentucky Shakespeare Festival.
Presented by the official Shakespeare Festival for the Commonwealth, Kentucky Shakespeare, the free event will offer its first performance on May 25 and finish up its season with a performance on August 7. All productions will be performed in Old Louisville’s Central Park at the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheater.
The 11-week season will feature three main stage productions, all presented at no charge to audience members. The main stage season will kick off with “Twelfth Night” featuring a live jazz band and set in 1920s New Orleans.
Next will come “Richard III”, which will bring the history series featuring the iconic Shakespeare villain to a close, and “The Merry Wives of Windsor”, an Elizabethan comedic farce. Once again, for two weeks in July the three plays will rotate nightly.
In some cases, businesses that benefit from a free event may choose to work with a flyer printing service, as this may be the most affordable promotional option.
Performance night scheduling will have food trucks opening for business at 6:00 pm, with a variety of 36 food trucks, supplied by the Louisville Food Truck Association, rotating nightly. Will’s Gift Shop, Will’s Tavern, and Kids’ Globe will open at 7:00 pm.
The Community’s Pre-Show Performance will start at 7:15 pm and the performance will start at 8:00 pm. More information and scheduling can be found here.
