The Kentucky Beef Council and the Kentucky Derby Festival conduct the competition which is sponsored by Dan-O’s Seasoning, Kroger, 80 Acres Farms and the Kentucky Beef Council. Everyone is free to enter whether they are professional or amateur cooks.
In a news release, the Kentucky Beef Council’s chief operating officer Carey Brown said:
“Real beef burgers present a unique way to help make every bite count with an unlimited array of options to boost nutrition and flavor. With tasty toppings like fruit, vegetables and whole grains to choose from, we always look forward to the unique recipes that are submitted from around the state."
Poster and banner printing services are both helpful in publicizing contests and community events.
To improve their chances of winning, entrants are encouraged to include with their submission photos of their burger with a brief description and a creative name for their burger creation.
The rules for the contest are as following: All entries have to be 100 percent beef and include 80 Acres Farms greens or herbs and include Dan-O’s seasoning as part of their recipe.
Burger aficionados wishing to throw hat their hat in the ring for the Kentucky Derby Burger Challenge can submit their recipes online throughout November, December and January with the deadline being January 31, 2025. Judging will be conducted on each recipe’s taste, creativity, appearance and ease of preparation.
