What's Happening in Louisville, KY…

Horse heritage event to drive into October

All set to take place next month at the Kentucky Horse Park in the Louisville area, the National Carriage Drive is a six-day event held to recognize recreational equine driving.

This is the largest gathering of equine drivers in the country, with individuals participating from dawn until dusk. There will be demonstrations, clinics, and private driving lessons involving leading clinicians and expert drivers.

The world of yesterday is experienced by visitors and spectators during this event. The history (as well as the art) involved in the equine sport presents a great learning opportunity. Attention to horse safety, welfare, and confidence development is all part of the focus here.

The National Drive has been taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park since 2005. Recreational driving and riding is all part of the excitement and the event attracts thousands of visitors.

In addition to watching the race, residents and visitors have a convenient opportunity to watch the meandering carriages throughout the grounds within the park, all included in the ticket price.

Local print companies frequently provide services such as banner printing for outdoor events. The banners can be placed throughout the city in advance of its start date to increase awareness and attendance. They can also be placed within the area to direct motor and foot traffic to specific areas.

The National Carriage Drive will take place over October 8-13 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Parking is available in the main lot of the park. For more information, visit the National Carriage Drive website or contact 931-686-8727.
