What's Happening in Louisville, KY…

Greater Louisville Jane Austen Society Festival scheduled

The North America Jane Austen Society – Greater Louisville Region will continue with its annual festival, although this year’s will be a virtual event.

Fans of the writer formed the Louisville chapter of the Jane Austen Society in July of 2007. Now 190 members strong, they have met each month at Locust Grove to enjoy a unique program and share afternoon tea, at least until recent events forced them to be cancelled, postponed, or held virtually.

This July, they will be holding their 12th Annual Jane Austen Festival, but this time online. The 2020 theme for the festival will be “In the Library with Jane… At Home!” and will take place July 10 – 12. All who enjoy or share an interest in Austen, either through her books, movies or even the Regency era, are encouraged to join.

Stationery printers assist in the creation of unique letterheads for a variety of organizations.

On the first day of the festival, July 10, online Twilight Shopping will take place between 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In addition to Festival Vendors, presentations from featured speakers and workshops will be available. Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 the same agenda will take place, in addition to a live Q & A, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Registration is necessary for admission, workshops and live Q & A sessions and will begin June 13 at 1:00 pm EDT. Admission is free and so are all events, excluding online workshops.
