Fireworks for Louisvilles 4th of July celebration
Once again, a free firework show precluded by a concert performed by the Louisville Orchestra (LO) will take place at Louisville’s Waterfront Park to celebrate Independence Day.
If the past is any indication, hundreds of thousands of people will be in attendance on the banks of the Ohio River to see the fireworks displayed over the water. In addition to listening to the concert, an assortment of family activities will be available to keep everyone entertained while awaiting the fireworks.

Waterfront Park’s executive director Deborah Bilitski had the following to say about the upcoming event:
Event officials say that the Waterfront Park 4th of July celebration is the result of over a dozen organizations and community groups coming together and collaborating on a variety of activities for attendees to participate in prior to the concert. Among these family friendly activities are dance lessons, boat building, and instrument making, to name just a few.
Per the event’s press release, LO will be performing a number of musical favorites, plus some unique additions. According to LO’s music director Teddy Abrams, the group’s Rap School will be involved, and Louisville hip-hop stars The Real Young Prodigys will, along with the Orchestra, perform Crown, their hit song.
