Finalists in technology contest set to showcase products
The Vogt Awards Demo Day event is taking place this month in Louisville.
This is the culmination of over 10 weeks of intensive training and coaching for the five finalists. The deadline to apply was the end of May and by July 17 eight finalists were chosen; this was cut down to five by the end of August. To qualify, the applicants had to create a product that was manufacturing-centric, will benefit the Greater Louisville community in some way, be of interest to buyers and must be a real product and not software. Finalists had to agree to attend all of the training modules.
Each finalist will be showcasing the tools or machinery that they have developed. They will then meet with investors during the day, and judges will pick one or more winners from the five finalists.
Each finalist already received $20,000 in seed money and the overall winner or winners will be awarded $100,000.
This event will likely be of great interest to many in the Louisville business community. Most of the finalists will likely be investing in a new or first business card printing order before hand.
