Festival leads up to world famous horse race
The Kentucky Derby Festival is returning to Louisville next month and will run for three weeks
There will be over 70 events taking place during the festival. One of the first events of the festival will be the Fillies Derby Ball on April 16 at the Louisville Marriot Downtown. It will feature the Queen's coronation, a cocktail reception, dinner, live music, and dancing. Tickets are $175 each.
A Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on April 30, for which fees range from $85 to $375 for the half race and $95 to $475 for the full race. The Taste of Derby Festival will feature food and cocktails from more than 65 area restaurants, a bourbon tasting, and a silent auction. It will be held at Louisville Slugger Field on April 26 and will be a fundraiser for the Dare the Care Food Bank. The price of tickets is $80 each.
Other events are set to include the Balloon Fest, a children's tea, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, a parade, and a spelling bee.
