Festival celebrates the cultures of Louisville
The 13th annual Worldfest is taking place this Labor Day weekend in Louisville.
Hosted by Louisville City Events, it celebrates the various ethnic groups and cultures that make the city their home.
There will be a variety of ethnic foods, cultural performances, and educational exhibits. Visitors can watch the Parade of Culture, visit the Global Village for cultural displays, or purchase arts and crafts from vendors
Some of the musical acts who are performing at this year's festival are Major Plena Libra, The Zydewinders, the Batuque Trio, and Funkadesi. Various community groups will also be performing, such as the Angleterre Morris Dancers, Flamenco Louisville, and the Imani Dance Company.
For children, the World of Discovery area is set to host activities like a workshop, kit or jewelry making and face painting. They can also pick up a passport that will be stamped every time they take part in an activity.
Sponsorships are available for those who wish to help ensure the continuation of the festival.
Louisville postcard printing companies often provide products to advertise events, as these can be mailed out quickly and inexpensively.
Worldfest will be held at The Belvedere from September 4 to 7. Admission is free of charge. To find out more about the festival, or to become a sponsor, get in touch with City Events at 502-574-3427.
