Event prepares to light up the neighborhood
Things in Louisville are about to get a little bit brighter, as the 26th Annual Festival of Trees and Lights comes to the area.
During the festival, attendees can visit the gift shop, where there will be a variety of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and homemade holiday goods for sale. Volunteers design these items and the proceeds will benefit the Kosair Children's Hospital.
Guests can also enjoy the ice skating rink, entertainment, and a miniature train display. At the children’s area, kids can get their faces painted, take a picture with Santa, or take part in a craft.
There will also be a special family night where there will be ‘Nutcracker’ ballet dancers and a fireworks show. Flyers have likely been posted around the community to promote this event.
General admission costs $8 for adults and $5 for kids under 12, and for seniors 65 and over. Tickets for family night cost $8 for adults, $5 for kids, and $25 for families of four or more.
The preview day for the festival is on November 13. Scout and Community days are scheduled for November 14 and 15. In addition to the regular activities, scouts can obtain an event patch. The hours for all days are 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Festival family night is on November 13 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
It all takes place at Louisville Slugger Field, located on 401 East Main Street.
