Election for new donut flavor
On National Donut Day North Lime Coffee and Donut plans to unveil a new variety of donut, but doesn’t know which of three possibilities to select, which is where Louisville residents come in.
The donut shop is featuring a unique competition whereas the public can weigh in and decide what the next donut flavor will be. So far almost 1,000 suggestions were presented to the company for their next new flavor and now it is down to three possible choices. According to the North Lime Coffee and Donuts owner, Kayla Hawkins, donut lovers can vote for their favorite among the three top contenders, which are Raspstacio, Purple Daze, and Cherry Ginger.

The flavors are described as follow: Raspstacio is as its name might imply a pistachio flavored cake donut with raspberry cream cheese icing topped with a raspberry drizzle; the Purple Daze description is a ube cake donut with toasted coconut over coconut ube icing; and the Cherry Ginger is a cake cherry ginger donut with a cherry drizzle over a lemon glaze and crystalized ginger topping.
North Lime Coffee and Donuts has four locations, two in Louisville and two in Lexington. The winning donut will be sold at all locations. Votes will be counted, and the winner determined by National Donut Day – June 7. Votes can be cast online.
