Belle of Louisville to ring in a century
The Centennial Festival of Riverboats in Louisville will celebrate the Belle’s 100th birthday later this year.
The event will display a fleet of riverboats renowned from around the nation. The boats will travel to the area for the opportunity to celebrate the Legendary Lady of the river’s 100th birthday. It is the oldest Mississippi-style operating steamboat in the world, and has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
Many celebratory events are planned, including one of the largest parties ever held on the Louisville waterfront. The Southern heritage in this rich American culture will be experienced throughout the festival.
