Another kind of ink in Louisville
The 4th Annual Louisville Tattoo Convention is scheduled for the spring of 2015 at the Kentucky International Convention Center on South 4th Street.
Entertainment endemic with the tattoo culture is scheduled. Performers include The Enigma, Marlo Marquis, Ascension and Misguided Youth, and The Inkllusionist.
Tattoo contests will be held throughout the weekend event, with a $10 entry fee. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. Some of the contest categories include best portrait in color and in black and gray, best traditional, and most unusual.
Other competitive categories include sleeve, hand, neck, leg, chest, back, overall, and cover-up. Tattoo of the day and best in show will also be judged and awarded; the former of which is a live event with the artists creating new tattoos that day.
Vendors will be on hand displaying and selling industry accessories, gifts and food items. They are encouraged to contact a local print company to prepare services such as flyer, poster, and banner printing. Banners are used within the display areas and throughout the venue. Flyers and posters convey the message about the event and can increase attendance as they communicate awareness.
Seminars are typically offered during the convention, presenting tools, techniques, and products. Seminars for the 2015 event are in the planning stages and will be scheduled soon.
