Each August, neighbors all across North America come together to celebrate what makes their community special. London will be no exception, and its police department will be welcoming the public to an event that will make a summer evening a bit more special.
This free celebration, which will be on offer at the London-Laurel Farmer’s Market, will offer lots of activities, and they will all be family friendly. One of the big draws for many may be the Pinewood Derby, which will see homemade pine model cars decorated like police cruisers take to the track. Prizes will be awarded to the car with the best design and also the one that is the fastest.
As well as the races, the crowd will be able to enjoy tunes spun by a live DJ, and games will also help to keep everyone having a great time. All the guests can enjoy the free food, and there will be both EMS and police vehicles parked on site to explore. Parents can stop by the fingerprint station to have their child’s prints taken, and the Kentucky Bloodmobile will be rolling in so that anyone who would like to give “the gift of life” will be able to do so.
