The Fight for Air Climb will be held by the American Lung Association next month at the Oakbrook Terrace Tower in Oakbrook Terrace.
This is an iconic tower in the city, which has 682 steps from the ground floor to the top floor. It is 31 stories tall and is state-of-the-art in quality and design. It has close to 800,000 square feet of rentable space with a warehouse next to it. It provides a wide range of services and amenities that benefit its tenants.
Participants in this event can climb fast or slowly up the stairs and individually, with friends and family, social groups, running clubs, or co-workers. This event promises to be a morning of healthy activity embraced through positivity and fun.
Those who participate are required to raise a minimum of $100. The goal for this year is to raise $155,000.00 to support lung health and clean air. Air that is unhealthy is an occupational hazard for firefighters, so one goal of this event is to do the climb and show appreciation for these first responders.
Such events and their fundraising efforts that benefit a community can be promoted throughout a city with flyer printing.
Local sponsors of the event include Breathing Clean, Delta Dental, Northwestern Medicine, and RML Specialty Hospital, among others.
The Fight for Air Climb will take place beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8.
