An art exhibit will be taking place at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook during the months of May and June and artists are currently being asked to submit their work.
Residents of Oakbrook Terrace will no doubt want to submit pieces for this exhibit, which will feature pollinators in nature.
The exhibit will showcase the important activities of these creatures in works of art that are designed to be eye-catching. Fun facts about pollinators will be part of the exhibit so that visitors to the exhibit will be better able to understand the role they play in the environment. Poster printing can be used throughout the community to advertise such exhibits and encourage the submission of appropriate artwork.
Kendra Strubhart, curator of the exhibit and heritage interpreter at Mayslake, said that the show is designed to encourage the community to celebrate and appreciate how pollinators contribute to the ecosystem. She added that diversity in the submissions is also being encouraged, such that artwork of wind carrying pollen could also be considered as part of this exhibition.
The DuPage Monarch Project and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County are collaborating to support this exhibit. The Forest Preserve is highlighting pollinators from the months of April through June, with hikes, lectures, performances, and many kinds of programs.
Submissions are due by April 1.
