Roka Akor, a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant chain known across the country, recently opened at Oakbrook Center. Those from nearby Oakbrook Terrace are sure to want to indulge in this new culinary experience.
The main concept of the restaurant is the preparation of Japanese cuisine on a robata grill that uses mesquite charcoal enabling temperatures as high as 1,900 degrees. The name of the restaurant comes from two Japanese words—‘RO’, which means ‘hearth’, and ‘KA’, which stands for a burning fire that casts energy.
The restaurant is 5,400 square feet in size and features intimate booths, a sushi bar, dining around the grill, and a uniquely designed bar. There are also three dining rooms made private from the rest of the restaurant, all of which offer dining around a robata grill for between 14 to 20 people.
The menu at the restaurant will have signature dishes incorporating ingredients from local sources whenever possible. There will be both hot and cold appetizers, premium sushi, and modern style nigiri. Selections from the robata grill will also be on the menu.
The restaurant will be open from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm during the work week for lunch, and daily for dinner from 5:00 to 11:00 pm. Happy Hour will be offered from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
Restaurants such as Roka Akor could use marketing services to help promote such a unique culinary, interactive, and engaging dining experience.
