New menu items join Mac family

McDonald’s, with corporate headquarters just outside Chicago in Oak Brook, just a short distance from Oakbrook Terrace, recently introduced a new menu offering in South Florida.

The Mac Jr. is a single-layer Big Mac without the extra bun in the middle and has a single, larger beef patty, while the Grand Mac has two larger beef patties than those on the classic sandwich so the total is one-third pound of meat. Lettuce, onions, pickles, cheese, and the chain's special sauce are included with each burger, and the buns are baked daily at Turano Bakery in Orlando.

Chef Mike Haracz, the corporate chef for McDonald’s, worked with his team to develop the new sandwiches so as to offer varieties on the classic Big Mac. Haracz commented that more of the sauce and cheese is tasted with Mac Jr., while the Grand Mac is beefier.

The reason why South Florida was chosen to sample the new offerings of the Mac family is that locations are very product-dependent. A great deal of research was done and it was found that people in the area are very upfront and honest about what they like and dislike, which makes South Florida a good test region for a new product.

McDonald’s might benefit from the assistance of a Print company in the South Florida area to promote the new menu offerings with the use of Flyers and Banners.
