New medical center expands outside Chicago

A new multimillion-dollar surgery center and professional building is being planned by Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Rush University Medical Center and in Oak Brook.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board recently approved the project, which will be a three-story professional building, 100,000 square feet in size, providing an outpatient surgery center with multiple specialties. There will also be laboratory and imaging services and offices for faculty physicians from Rush University Medical Center and for Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

The project is expected to cost about $65m, of which $21m will goes towards the outpatient surgery center. The plan for the building will also include an attached deck for parking.

President of Rush University Medical Center, Michael Dandorph, commented that the location was selected to make it as convenient as possible for those who live in nearby Oakbrook Terrace and other Chicago suburbs, so they could receive the healthcare they need from their Rush providers.

In addition to providing the clinical and surgical specialties from Rush, the facility will also focus on orthopedic care. Rush is one of those providers that is ranked the highest in the country with regard to this specialty.

Rush and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush might want to collaborate on creating Flyers and Brochures with more information about the facility and its offerings.
