A company with a US headquarters in Libertyville has introduced a new, publicly available fast-charging station for electronic vehicles (EVs).
A Netherlands-based company called EVBox, which just built the headquarters for its US operations and manufacturing in Libertyville, hopes the new stations will help put the United States on the path to mainstream usage of electric cars.
Governor Pritzker, accompanied by Senator Dick Durbin, made an appearance on a warehouse stage to see the official opening of EVBox's Troniq Modular charging station — the twenty-first-century version of a gas pump — constructed completely in the Libertyville factory. A new installation is likely to feature the Logo Design of the company that runs it.
The electric car revolution is gaining steam in the United States, fueled by government subsidies, environmental objectives, and aggressive production targets. However, while the market develops past early adopters enticed to use innovative technology, the broader public has encountered several speed bumps.
The main issue is an insufficient and unstable charging network, which can cause a trip across the country to grind to an abrupt halt in unfamiliar regions due to an inability to find a working charger station. With more opportunities for charging across the nation, EVs are likely to become more popular.
EVBox states it will be able to reach full capacity on production of the new charging stations within 18 months, if demand suffices.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
