Landscaping offers a way to make a property feel attractive and inviting, and the Illinois Master Gardener program wants to help Joliet homeowners spruce up their yard.
The organization has seats on offer in its Home Landscaping 101 seminar, and it will offer lots of simple and actionable tips. It can help new gardeners to get started and can serve as a refresher for those who have lots of experience, and it may even teach these old dogs some new tricks..
The guide for the class will be Nancy Kuhajda, who will supply common sense advice. Issues such as amending heavy or poor soil, plant selection, bed preparation and siting, and microclimates will also be discussed. The goal is for everyone to walk away eager to get planting, and there are enough spots for up to 50 learners. To reserve a space, those who are interested are asked to call 815-727-4811.
This two-hour workshop will be offered in person at the Will County Farm Bureau Auditorium. A brochure printing source will be able to prepare handouts and other learning materials for an event.
Joliet’s future green thumbs should arrive at 1:00 pm on April 3. It will wrap up at 3:00 pm, and the Will County Farm Bureau’s website offers more details about the function as well as its other events.
