Joliet chefs compete at fundraiser
The Will County Children’s Advocacy Center will host its 15th Men Who Cook fundraiser this fall.
The event will bring together local professional and amateur chefs for an evening of food and philanthropy.
This event, presented by CITGO, combines community spirit with culinary competition, all to benefit programs supporting kids who have experienced abuse and neglect.
Guests will be able to sample entrees, appetizers, and desserts crafted by men from across the county. Attendees will act as judges, casting votes for their favorite dishes. In addition to food tastings, the evening will include raffles, live music by the JIB Brothers, a cash bar, and children’s activities, creating a family-friendly environment.
The fundraiser will directly benefit the advocacy center, which provides trauma-informed services to children who have faced physical or sexual abuse, exploitation, or exposure to violence.
Tickets are available at several price points. General admission is $44.52, including fees. A discounted “Two for $75” couple’s package is $81.88 with fees. Admission for children ages 6 to 12 is $12.51, while children five and under may attend free of charge. Ticket sales conclude on the day of the event.
Poster printing remains a useful way for nonprofit groups to spread awareness and attract supporters to local fundraisers such as this one.
Men Who Cook will be held Saturday, October 11th, from 6 to 9 pm at the Joliet Junior College Weitendorf Agricultural Education Center, 17840 West Laraway Rd, Joliet, Illinois. Doors open at 5:45 pm.
