There will be a “Bridge to Broadway Summer Theater Camp” taking place in Joliet this summer.
This performing arts program is being organized by the City of Joliet in partnership with the Joliet Drama Guild. It is designed for children and youth, ages 5 through 18.
Participants are grouped by age and experience level, with younger beginners attending shorter afternoon sessions and older or more experienced students participating in longer daytime sessions. Fees start at $275 and vary based on age group and program level.
The program provides structured training in acting, singing, movement, and technical theatre. Campers engage in both onstage performance and behind-the-scenes production work, allowing them to develop a broad understanding of theatre operations. The curriculum emphasizes skill development, collaboration, and practical application through rehearsals and guided instruction.
The camp will conclude with a staged production of ”Finding Nemo Jr.” The show will include a dress rehearsal followed by scheduled public performances.
This final production serves as a demonstration of the skills acquired during the program and highlights participants’ progress in performance and teamwork.
Fees for the camp start at $275 and vary based on age group and program level. Registrations can be completed through the Eventbrite listing.
Print shops are often used to create stage signage for events such as this one.
The camp will be held at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre,201 West Jefferson Street Joliet, Illinois . The camp has sessions from Monday to Thursday for a four-week period from June 15 to July 11.
