Joliet folks who are Trekkies at heart will get the opportunity to enjoy an evening with the famous James T. Kirk, as he presents his one-man-show he calls ‘Shatner’s World; We Just Live In It’.
Actor William Shatner will use the Star Trek theme as an introduction to the 100-minute bio. He will begin his monologue with a look at his formative years in Canada, and then move on to discussing his roles in Star Trek and later Boston Legal. He also will talk about this musical career.
Shatner will accent his stories using video clips, photographs, and film projected onto a large globe in front of a black starry back drop.
One theme that the beloved octogenarian will focus on will be death, which he refers to as ‘the final frontier’ alluding to the opening monologue of his Star Trek series. He will discuss the end of his Star Trek character, the death of his father, his third wife’s drowning, and a little vignette about the demise of his favorite horse.
Many goers may want to bring a reliable camera to get pictures of Shatner for their personal poster printing.
The show will take place this Saturday, January 23, starting at 8:00 pm at the Rialto Square Theatre, 15 East Van Buren Street, Joliet. Tickets range for $45 to $200 depending on seating.
