Local Irish parade set to go next month

The 22nd annual Tinley Park Irish Parade is taking place next month, presented by the Oak Avenue Mainstreet Association.

This popular parade usually attracts over 15,000 visitors and lasts approximately one and a half hours, sometimes featuring up to 80 groups. There will be floats from local businesses, marching bands such as last year's Marian Catholic Marching Band, and school groups. There will also be plenty of traditional Irish music.

It is not known yet exactly what form this parade will take due to social distancing protocols. More details will likely be released closer to the events.

The parade will start at Central Middle School and travel down Oak Park Avenue. Stores along the way often offer family-friendly activities. Irish foods will also be available to try.

This is just one of the many events that often take place in Tinley Park running up to Saint Patrick's Day. People from all over the area may be interested in attending this popular outdoor event, including those from nearby Joliet. Local flyer printing companies frequently provide the merchandising materials distributed to surrounding areas.

The parade will take place in Tinley Park on March 7, beginning at 1:00 AM. For the most current information about this event and other Saint Patrick's Day activities, visit the Village of Tinley Park website.
