Joliet to be treated to medieval fun

The Black Road Branch of the Joliet Library system will be giving kids ages five and up a chance to enjoy a journey back in time to the medieval age.

Dubbed “The Royal Faire”, the day will be filled with mystery and magic, with a selection of medieval-themed activities to enjoy. Those interested can just stop by to enjoy the fun without needing to sign up in advance, and its schedule runs for four hours.

The day will get off to a tasty start with freshly smoked turkey legs and beverages served by the Smoked by Hank food truck, and while they enjoy their lunch, the public can take in one of the sword fighting demos taking place hourly. Birds of prey will be onsite for the crowd to meet, and the kids can meet their favorite costumed character.

Libraries often serve as community hubs, hosting a range of public activities such as markets, workshops, and festivals. A flyer printing company will be happy to help get the word out to local area residents so that they know what is on offer for them in their own home area.

The Black Road Branch of the Joliet Public library will be offering this day of medieval themed fun on Saturday, July 22. The celebration will get underway at 10:00 am.
