Joliet plant lovers who have been looking for an opportunity to add to their own personal collection may want to save the date for a special local event.
The Plant Parenthood Picnic will be wrapping up July in Lockport, and it will be filled with horticulture finds. At least 20 vendors will be on site, and all ages are on the guestlist.
Along with the chance to purchase plants and horticultural products, attendees will be able to treat themselves to some art and accessories. As food and drinks will be available, everyone can bring a blanket to spread out so they can enjoy a picnic lunch. Artisan snow cones will keep everyone cool. Draws for a variety of prizes will round out the day.
The festivities will take place at Lincoln Landing and admission will be free. The entertainment will be provided by a DJ.
