Joliet golfers to tee off in two-person scramble

The opening of another golf season is fast approaching, and Joliet golfers have been invited to add their name to a local contest.

Woodruff Golf Course will be kicking off another year with a two-person scramble. The event will start in mid-morning, with various contests on the agenda. The registration fee for a team is $120.

Players who sign up will have their green fees covered, and they will also be offered the use of a cart. Food and drinks will also be provided, and anyone who would like to put their skills to the test can try their luck in the longest drive, closest to the pin, and a skins game, the latter of which will be optional. Prizes, including Gift Certificates for merchandise printed with a special graphic design, will be awarded to the winners.

A day of golf can be enjoyable for those with a passion for the game, and many not-for-profits and other groups host these activities as fundraisers or corporate mixers.
