Joliet gardeners to add to their collections

Savvy gardeners are invited to attend a plant sale in their home community.

Joliet’s Sugar Creek Administration Center will be providing space for a pop-up plant market, and native species will be at the forefront. It is being hosted by The Nature Foundation of Will County, and as customers can make their selections online ahead of time, it will be a way to help them to get gardening.

The sale will be accepting pre-orders that will be packaged and made available for pickup, and the species included can be counted on to attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Both individual plants and collections will be offered, and these will be paired with an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets. Many of the prizes that will be drawn for will have a horticultural theme.

While this type of event often attracts seasoned green thumbs, other shoppers may not have much experience at all. This is why it may be beneficial to supply shoppers with plant care tip sheets, and these can be ordered from area Print shops.

The ordering window for this garden market opened on March 13, and continues until May 1, so locals still have over a week to place their order. Pick-up begins at 12:00 noon on May 14 and continues until the same time the following day.
