The hour-long activity will explore how phlebotomy technicians can find employment in a variety of healthcare settings, and they draw blood and perform other duties. The course at Joliet Junior College will offer 60 hours of learning, and when they complete their training, they will be prepared for an entry level position in the field.
The students will receive both in class and lab learning, and there will be lectures, skills acquisition and development, written and other testing, and also class discussions. They will all get 120 hours of supervised clinical experience, and at the end of their training, the learners can choose to take the certification exam administered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
