Joliet enjoys summer festival

Locals recently kicked off the summer with a festival featuring food, rides, and music.

‘Taste of Joliet’ featured a lineup of bands such as the Plain White T's. Meanwhile, food vendors were on hand to sell everything from pizza to fried candy.

There was also a carnival with rides, as well as a kids’ zone with inflatables, face painting, and a balloon artist. This area for children was set to be open from noon until 6:00pm on the first two days, and 2:00pm until 5:00pm on the final day.

For the first two days, general admission cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door. On the last day, admission was $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Children aged 11 and under were free with a paid adult, while seniors paid $5 all weekend. When purchasing tickets online, an additional $2.50 was applied.

For $50, individuals could also purchase a carnival pass, which included unlimited rides for the duration of the festival. It’s likely that Stationery printers were asked to make tickets for the event.

Taste of Joliet took place from June 26th until June 27th from noon until midnight, and June 28th from noon until 7:00pm. The festival was to be held at the ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium, located on Jefferson Boulevard. Free parking was reportedly available in several nearby lots.
