Joliet educators to get educated themselves

Teachers in the field of science will have the opportunity to enhance their classroom tools and techniques during the Constellation Energy Education Workshop this February in Joliet.

This free, hands-on event will provide educators with valuable resources, networking opportunities, and professional development tailored to teaching energy concepts.

Participants will engage in an interactive agenda featuring hands-on activities and lessons designed to make complex energy topics more accessible for students. The day begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of energy, followed by experiments exploring various types of energy and transformations using specialized kits. Attendees will also dive into lessons on non-renewable and renewable energy sources, the carbon cycle, and radioactive decay.

The workshop’s highlights include wind, hydropower, and solar energy demonstrations. It will also feature activities such as constructing solar ovens and understanding penstock volume.

In addition to the engaging curriculum, attendees will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and materials to support their teaching efforts. Attendees should note that they will be given a stipend to make the event enriching and rewarding.
