Unique events to come to Frankfort for the fall

The Frankfort Park District has a series of special events planned for this fall.

Poster printing strategically placed throughout the community can help to promote such events and garner interest.

The first event is a Harvest Moon Ball. This will be held at Founders Community Center on Oak Street. This will be an evening of dancing, with entertainment courtesy of a live DJ and light refreshments.

The cost of tickets is $20 per person and registration for the event is required. There will also be a professional photographer to take formal pictures for an additional charge. The Ball will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 22.

A fall luncheon for seniors will be held next month at Founders Community Center. This will be an afternoon of food and dessert, live entertainment, and socializing with friends. This luncheon is for those 55 years of age and older and is $7 per person. It will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6.

The Scarecrow Building Contest will be a family-friendly event. Business members, homeowners’ associations, and scout groups, among others, can join the fun for this annual event. The Park District will provide cross sticks. Entries are due by Tuesday, October 10 and will be displayed outside the Founders Community Center. The community is invited to vote on the scarecrows from October 12 through October 31.
