Several new projects to be developed in downtown Frankfort

The Frankfort Village Board has approved a number of projects that will increase the offerings in the community and enhance the landscape of the village.

A three-story addition will be built that will connect to the Olde Frankfort Mall Development on Ash Street. This project will help to revitalize the Olde Frankfort Mall area; provide new dining, entertainment, and shopping options; and foster economic growth.

A Special Use Permit was granted to the Frankfort Arts Association Underground that will enable it to run a business featuring an art gallery and art classes. This project reflects the commitment of the village to supporting arts and culture. A Full-Service Restaurant Permit has been approved for Petite Patate, which will be moving from New York City. This will also include considerations for a vacation rental on the second floor of the building on Kansas Street.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the office of State Senator Michael Hastings have awarded the village an amount of $500,000 to expand parking in the H-1 district in downtown H-1. Engineering is already underway for this additional parking.

Flyer printing can be used to inform residents of such projects and their benefits for the community.

Mayor Keith Ogle said these projects will contribute to the vitality and charm of the downtown area, and will be attractive to both residents and visitors.
