What's Happening in Edwardsville, IL…

Yearly car show scheduled for September

The Annual Kicks on 66 will return for a third year to celebrate the diverse spectrum of motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles in an assortment of categories.

The event will take place at American Legion Post #199’s, On the Hill Golf Course & Lounge, here in Edwardsville. On hand will be classics, antiques, post-war, pre-war, American muscle, exotics, and sports cars. The whole nine-hole golf course will be available for vehicle display.

The first year the event was held 1,500 people showed up to see 300 cars and motorcycles. This year it is anticipated that a crowd of 2,500 will be on hand to admire 500 plus vehicles.

Banner printing services provide an excellent way to promote an upcoming event.

Known also as the Randy Gori Memorial Show, the Kicks on 66 Car Show was conceived by some friends of Randy Gori, a resident of Edwardsville who hosted a number of memorable events in the St. Louis metro area for a variety of car groups. A 501(c)(3) organization is in charge of the event and donates all proceeds from the event to its charity partners, Partners for Pets and Backstoppers.

There is no charge to attend the event or to enter a vehicle. Registration for vehicles begins at 7:30 am and closes at 10:45 am. The show is open to the public from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at which time the cruise begins.
