Popović is a native of Belgrade, and began playing guitar at age 15. She formed the band Hush in 1996. The group performed more than 100 times in 1998, and released their first album, “Hometown,” that year. Popović left the group to study guitar in the Netherlands, and Hush disbanded.
The artist founded the Ana Popović Band in 1999, and released the album “Hush!” in 2001. She recorded the effort in Memphis, and the album’s success was such that she decided to devote most of her time to performing. Two of her albums, “Unconditional” and “Still Making History” went to No. 1 on the United States Billboard Blues Chart. She lives now in the United States and has continued building a huge following.
