What's Happening in Edwardsville, IL…

Spring opening for Blue Violet restaurant

This spring Edwardsville will see its second Michael Del Pietro Restaurant opening, with the latest to be located at Trace on the Parkway.

According to St. Louis Magazine, the new restaurant, to be called “Blue Violet,” will serve lunch and dinner with a menu conceptualized by chef Jordon Knight of Del Pietro’s Il Palato.

In addition to Knight, other veterans of the Michael Del Pietro Restaurant group Micah and Baltes will be assuming leadership roles in the new restaurant.

Specific menu items have yet to be decided upon, but it has been noted that no single influence will dominate the kitchen. The food at Blue Violet will draw on the cuisine of the Latin America, Asia, and the American South and Midwest.

Logo design is an essential element in the launching of a successful establishment. In the case of a restaurant, one has to think not only of how the logo will look on outside signage, but also how it will look on a smaller scale such as a menus.

In table and small-plate bar service, the Blue Violet will seat anywhere from 70 to 100 patrons in its 3,000-square-foot space. In addition to having classic cocktails available, the restaurant’s management plans on slowly building an expansive wine selection. Although not in the immediate future, outdoor dining is also something that is being considered.
