Southern rock band to play Edwardsville
A band described as any of Southern rock, or electric bluegrass, or country rock is coming to Edwardsville.
The Ozark Mountain Daredevils have appeared in Edwardsville before, performing during the holiday season. The program this year will feature some of their biggest hits such as “Standing on the Rock,” “Jackie Blue,” and the iconic “If You Wanna Get to Heaven,” and more.
The group formed in 1971 in Springfield, Missouri, and went through several name changes before settling on Cosmic Corncob & His Amazing Ozark Mountain Daredevils, shortening it to Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
Early in their career, they came to the attention of Glyn Johns, who had produced “Desperado,” the Eagles' mammoth hit album. Johns was looking for a band with a typically American sound. Since the Daredevils wrote a huge amount of original material and had been influenced by a wide range of artists, they were exactly what Johns was looking for, and they soon signed with A&M Records.
They released their first album in 1973, and saw it make it into the 100 Top Pop Album Artists. “If You Wanna Get to Heaven” was one of the album tracks.

The Daredevils will be at the Wildey Theatre at 8:00 pm on December 26. Poster printing can provide colorful advertising for this type of event.
